He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Leonard Heaton and Edna Heaton; his wife Nedra Tueller; and his siblings, Maxine Brady (Wells), Clawson Heaton (Diane) and Millicent Turley (Alan).

He is survived by: his siblings, Leonard (Yvonne), Lowell (Glenda), Sherwin (Margo), Gary (Karen), Olive McElwee (Jim) and Claren (Wanda); his children, Cindy Scott (Russ), Brenda Skaggs (Mike), Gini Chandler (Bill), Lance Heaton (Michelle), Alison Felt (Scott) and Brett Heaton (Janae); and his close friends, Zions Way, Fredonia and Ward. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the "Fredonia Fire Department in Memory of Dean Heaton" are encouraged.
