He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Dalton and Reta Dalton; his wife Janis Fay Dalton; and his siblings, Dorothy Wiley, Billie Rachel Dalton and Jerry Dalton.
He is survived by: his daughter Carla Sue Christman; and his stepchildren, Jim Martinez and Viki Buckingham. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
