He was predeceased by: his parents, Paulidor Valdez and Manuelita De La O Valdez; his wife Veronica; his siblings, Reynaldo, Philip Valdez and Erma Hernandez; his granddaughter Angel Thomas; and his son-in-law Richard Canizales.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Gabriel, Joe Canizales, Evy Salyers, Alejandro Valdez, Feliz, Peter Martinez, Joshua Macias, Jaime Delgadillo, Benito Thomas, Jessi Thomas and Noelle Acuna. He is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren.
