She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Harris and Margaret Harris (Gasaway); her siblings, Wanda and Robert; and her husband Martin L Pinson Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Beverly King and Linda Shearer (Mark); and her sister Doris Brazeal. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Susan G. Komen organization or to a charity of choice.
