He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Henry Platt and Irene Hall; his grandparents, Ashley Moroni Hall, Laura Jane Burgess, William Lester Platt and Iris Hamblin; and his son William Michael (Dora).

He is survived by: his children, Carla Dawn (Victor) of Silverton, OR and David (Toni) of San Tan, AZ; and his siblings, Rauna Rae Benson of Maricopa, AZ and Irvin Ashley "Butch" Platt (Amy Lisa) of Paradise Valley, AZ. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
