He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Hubert and Ruth Marie Eckert (Smith); his siblings-in-law, Rudolph Elias Hakola and Eva Dagmar Hakola (Koivisto); his siblings, Ronald Eckert, Kathleen Eckert Grimm and Harvey J. Eckert; and his brother-in-law Gene Grimm.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Marie Hakola of Rudyard; his children, Thomas Michael Eckert II of Chandler and Tracy Michelle Brinkmeier (William) of Gilbert, Arizona; his grandchildren, David Joshua Eckert, Bethany Joy Eckert of Oldsmar and Matthew Elias Brinkmeier of Gilbert, Arizona; his siblings, Paul Eckert (Laura) of Waukesha, John Eckert (Bunny) of Oconomowoc, Terese Looysen (Bob) of Muskegon, Marian Hazard (Bill) of Queen Creek and Camille Hamme (Steve) of Watertown, Wisconsin; and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Eckert of Oconomowoc and Gerald Hakola (Connie) of La Habra. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
