She was predeceased by: her parents, George Cole and Jareene Novak. She is survived by: her husband George Hawkins; her children, Shawn Hawkins (Dawn) and Amber Whitaker (Patrick); and her grandchildren, Shonci Hawkins and Shawn Hawkins Jr..

Donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude's Cancer Research.
