She was predeceased by: her husband Albert J Kranz; and her sister Eileen Harsnett. She is survived by: her children, Jim, Jean Kranz of Charleston, WV and Carolyn Bonamo of Chandler Arizona; and her grandsons, Matthew Bonamo and Timothy Bonamo. She is also survived by grandsons and children, beloved nieces and nephews.

The family requests donations be made to Children's Cancer Network, an organization Joan felt strongly about.
