He was predeceased by: his children, Beth (Berg) and Dan; his parents, Dorothy and Samuel; and his siblings, Sam and Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa McCarthy (Terry); his children, Daniel Gerard and Amy of Chandler; his grandchildren, Grant and Megan; his son-in-law Ken Berg of Chandler; his grandchildren, Keegan, Finnegan and Grace DeMerell; and his daughter-in-law Connie DeMerell-Martinez of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
