It is with great sadness that we announce the death of DuWayne Nevius of Chandler, Arizona, born in Fremont, Nebraska, who passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Nevius and Lucille Nevius-Romans; and his siblings, Richard Nevius and Carolyn Wirka (Nevius). He is survived by: his wife Willa (Paine); his sons, Chris (Dawn) of Bellevue, NE and Jeffrey of Maricopa, AZ; his grandchildren, Emelie Ortloff (Shawn), Tayler Powers (Kenny) of Mesa, AZ, Lauren Nevius of Bellevue, NE and Trevor Nevius; his great grandchildren, Brady, Dawson Ortloff of Mesa, AZ and Paisley Rose Powers of Mesa, AZ; his sisters, Lynette Hilgert (Phil) of Kirkland, WA, Louella Thomas of Lincoln, NE and Evelyn Romans of Lincoln, NE; and his sisters-in-law, Melba (Paul), Gloria Sumbardo of Vacaville, CA and Sandra Meyer of Missouri Valley, IA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He made the decision to donate his body to science.
