He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Captain and Helen Yvonne Rice; his son Scott Rice; and his brothers, Tom Rice and Jim Osani.
He is survived by: his partner Shirley Nelson of Chino Valley; his siblings, Rick La Bakis of Casa Grande, Jody Zito, Gary Zito of Chino Valley and Linda Osgood of Littleton, N. C.; and his children, Sean Rice and Kelly Stuart Rice.
