She was predeceased by: her daughter Bridgette Mercedes Coby; her parents, Fred Gowdy Sr. and Vylee Stewart; and her siblings, Sandra Nelson, Richard Gowdy, Robert Gowdy and Cynthia Gowdy.
She is survived by: her children, Mashell, Don (Ronda) and Deshion; her grandchildren, Dimitri (Haley), Antonio (Tabatha), Danielle (Micah), Briana, Bridgette, Lisa, Deshion Jr., Kina, Asha, Kindle, Dhanhi, Nasira and Devin; her great grandchildren, Daeton, Jaden, Asher, Ryus, Elius, Calani, Arya and Cordona III; and her siblings, Fred (Karen), Bernard, James Gowdy, Denise Gowdy and Brenda Robbins (Ken). She is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
