He was predeceased by: his parents, John Salyers, Sr. and Minnie Salyers (Smith); his son Steven Salyers; and his siblings, Alvin Salyers, Wayne Salyers, William Salyers, Loretta McQuay, Elsie Shy, Emma Radabaugh, Delta Blakeman, Melda Rapp and Louise Larkin.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Pittman (William) of Rocky Mount, NC, Peggy McDonnell of Ivoryton, CT and David A. Salyers of Casa Grande, AZ.
