We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2023, at the age of 70, Monroe William Shumate (Carefree, Arizona), born in Charleston, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Mack Shumate. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Mason, Violet, Lewis-Monroe and Harris; his children-in-law, Luke and Maggie; his brothers, Mack, David and Loren Shumate; his mother Helen Shumate; his children, Mike and Patti; and his girlfriend Cathy Byrne. He is also survived by his children and mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to the Boy Scouts of America in honor of Monroe, an Eagle Scout who passed on his love of the outdoors and scouting traditions to his children.
