He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Merriman; his grandchild Casity Ortiz (Carlos Ortiz, Jr.); his great grandchild Brandy Reneé Cunningham; and his siblings, Katie Case (Wayne) and Stephen Carter (Cindy). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
