She is survived by: her daughter Kama Chavis; and her cousins, Cathy Stephenson-Smith, Cheryl Stephenson-Jackson, Carol Stephenson, Nicky Stephenson, Angels, Susan, Wink, Winkler and Andrea Bernier.
The family requests in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution be sent to the Spelman College Theater and Performing Arts Department (Atlanta, Georgia) and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (Newark, New Jersey) in Claudia F. Chavis' name.
