He was predeceased by: his mother Ora Haws. He is survived by: his father Ray Wendell Vance; and his children, Richard Vance (Julienne), Clayton Vance (Bonnie), Gary Vance (Ondalynn), Camille Black (Jared), Kim Haslam (Christopher) and Ryan Vance (Carissa). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren.
He specialized in pulmonary and critical care medicine, becoming a traveling doctor during the COVID pandemic.
