He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonardo and Gumesinda. He is survived by: his wife Mary M. Chavez; his children, Elaine M. Chavez and John Anthony Chavez; his grandchildren, Angela Paez, Michael Rodriguez, Felicia Ochoa and Alejandro L. Carrasco; and his siblings, Manuel Chavez, Irene Gonzalez and Otilia Moya. He is also survived by many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
