Maria Elia Malagon Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 18, 2022, at the age of 75, Maria Elia Malagon (Avondale, Arizona) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Miguel Castro and María of Jesús Herrera; her husband Miguel Ángel Malagon; and her children, Monica (Mark), Miguel Ángel (Lilia), Francisco Javier, José Arturo (Vanessa), Maria Elia and Luis Rafael. She was also cherished by Her nine grandchildren, including two bonus granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

Additionally, she sewed countless other items such as Halloween costumes, knitted and crocheted blankets, and even embroidered face masks during the height of COVID.

Whether it was coordinating a donation fund for a loved one to pay an unexpected expense, or serving a warm meal minutes after walking through her door, or even offering a few words of wisdom, Elia lived her life selflessly to help others in their time of need.
