William Alan Schaefer Obituary

William Alan Schaefer passed away unexpectedly on 11-24-2021 at his home in Apache Junction, Arizona. He entered into the gates of heaven into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ. William was born July 7, 1996 to David Schaefer and Angela Darlington in Chillicothe, Ohio. William lived in Columbus, Ohio and attended high school there during his teenage years. He lived and worked the last 18 months of his life in Mesa, Arizona where he had a Poshmark business and delivered packages for Amazon. William loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker, loved to work out at his fitness club, and was a devoted Ohio State fan. William attended several memorable OSU football games at the Horseshoe with his dad.

Surviving William are three sisters Sara Fraley, Mellissa Landrum (Ty), Myra Matthews (Josh) and one brother Mike Fraley Jr. Also surviving are William's stepmother Debbie Schaefer and stepfather Michael Darlington, along with his grandfather and step grandmother Roger and Carol Sessor. William was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Robert and Jenny Schaefer and his maternal grandmother Latricia Sessor. William spent many loving years with his dog Maverik who accompanied him on his hiking trips, also preceded him in death. William leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who adored him.

William always had a smile on his face and made everyone laugh when he was around them. William had a tender heart and always wanted to help the needy. William gave to Operation Smile and occasionally volunteered in a church food pantry. He told me that is what Jesus wants me to do. William will be sadly missed but he left his family many fond memories of happy times together.

Family will receive friends at the WARE FUNERAL HOME in Chillicothe Wednesday December 15, 2021 at 12 noon with pastor Steve Schmidt officiating. Graveside service will follow in Grandview Cemetery, where William will be laid to rest beside his beloved grandparents, Robert and Jenny Schaefer.
