He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Betz and George Betz (Ted); his wife Marie Louise Stertzbach; and his son Timothy Betz. He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Reece (Eric Powell), Deborah Poparad, Scott (Vickie Betz) and Kevin Betz. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
