He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlin Traughber and Sylvia Juanita Traughber (Dollins); his wife Julie; his sons, Donald and Michael; and his sister Jeanne Crest.

He is survived by: his children, Verlin Pardon (Sherry) of Virginia, Tammie Tilmon (Roger) of Lebanon and Linda Traughber of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his siblings, Charles Traughber of Dexter, Doyle Traughber of Georgia, Jimmy Traughber of Bloomfield, Jack Traughber of Michigan, Rick Traughber of Texas, Tim Traughber of Idaho, Carolyn Traughber of Thayer, Ali Traughber of Benton Harbor and Nelda Williams Traughber of Missouri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
