He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Smith and Thelma Stone Smith; his grandson Kendell Todd Smith; his son-in-law Bill Clayton; and his siblings, Mary George "Sis" Cathey, Woodrow "Shorty" Smith and Edward "Red" Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Charlene Smith of Wynne; his children, Lynne Smith Clayton of Wynne and Ronnie Smith (Donna) of Okeechobee; and his granddaughters, Katie Clayton Brown (Matt) of Wynne and Kristen Tate Smith of Florida.
