He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gilbert and Blanch Hall Gilbert; and his siblings, Thelma Smith, Grady (Ham), Raymond (Shine), Oscar (Rip) and Howard Gilbert (Mutt).
He is survived by: his children, Linda Hart (Michael) of Wynne, Kathrine May (Darren) of Bono, John of Wynne and Edward Gilbert of Wynne; his brother Aubrey Gilbert (Geraldine) of Wynne; and his grandchildren, Joyce Sanders (Jason) of Wynne, Kimberly Sisson (Shane) of Wynne, Michael Hart of Wynne, Brittany Arnold (Justin) of Trumann, Amanda Kirby (Matt) of Bono, Conner Gilbert of Cherry Valley and Sarah Beth Pruitt (Michael) of Cherry Valley. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
