She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Blackwell and Annie Blackwell (Stephens); and her sisters, Agnos Knowles and Joyce Blackwell. She is survived by: her children, Walter Mays, Jr. (Jane Tramuta) of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Pamela Easter (Randy) of Wynne and Diane Powell of Wynne; and her siblings, Merrill, Gerald Blackwell and Lois Banton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
