She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Ellis and Siney Adams Ellis; her husband Elbert Emerson; and her son Ricky Emerson. She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Munn (Thomas), Libby Mahon (Alan), Darlene Adams Stampley (Lynn) and Teena Powers (Gary); her grandchildren, Julie Truelove (Kevin), Melanie Adams, Christie Grimmer (Lyle), Ashley Arnold (David), Matthew Adams (Rachel), Allison South (Brad) and Patrick Powers; and her great grandchildren, Stephanie, Corbin (Callyn), Dawson, Weslyn, Porter and Lila. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
