He was predeceased by: his parents, Jud W. Knighten, Sr. and Mazie M. Knighten (Winters); his wife Pearl Rae Knighten (Tillman); and his brothers, Jud Knighten, Jr., Peter Knighten and Robert Knighten.

He is survived by: his sister Margaret Smith of Surprise, Arizona; and his niece Cynthia Hoots (L. J.) of Hickory Ridge. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
