He was predeceased by: his father Van William Ferrell; his wife Velma I. Graham Ferrell; and his brothers, Bob and John Ferrell. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Dewayne Ferrell of Wilmar and LaDonna Dodson (Jessie) of Monticello; his siblings, Tim Ferrell (Cindy) of Wilmar, Jim Ferrell (Billie) of Wilmar and Mary Willabea Ingram of Miami, OK; and his grandchildren, Justin, Tommy Ferrell, Jessica and Nicholas Dodson. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
