It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Stephenson of Wilmar, Arkansas, born in Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Susie Nessour and Mitchell Nessour; her stepson Keith Stephenson; her grandsons, Justin Purgahn and Jason Pena; and her siblings, Wilburn Nessour, Mercer Nessour, Mercedes Duncan, Annie Elter and Gloria Gaskin.
She is survived by: her sons, Fritz Purgahn (Dino) of Bridge City, Phillip Purgahn (Paulette Youngblood) and Michael Frederick Purgahn (Marcella) of Mont Belvieu; her stepdaughter Toni Joyner; her grandchildren, Joshua Purgahn, Mary Allyson Duck (Calvin), Monique Duval (James), Micah Purgahn (Brittaney), Miranda Gallien (Thomas), Cashlynn Gillespie and Chaselynn MeBee; her great grandchildren, Eben Purgahn, Joby Purgahn, Jade Purgahn, Taylor Pena, Zoé Purgahn, Nathan Purgahn, Eric Duck, Kamron Duval, Dusty Purgahn, Cain Purgahn, Mallory Gallien, Carter Gallien, Layne and Wylie Gillespie; and her great great grandchild Beck Johnson. She is also survived by her family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Little Flower Catholic Church (6412 Garnet Ave, Port Arthur, TX 77640). A rosary will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
