He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Newman and Ethel Kennup Newman; and his son Robert Dale Newman. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Irene Miller Newman; his sons, Carlos Newman of Heber Springs, John Newman of Wilburn, Arkansas and Gerald Newman (Tracy) of Wilburn, Arkansas; and his siblings, Mack Newman (Jean) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jean Hazelwood of Heber Springs, Betty Harris of Wilburn and Marybale Strickland (Hank) of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many friends.
