He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clifton Herring, Sr. and Minnie Etta Hildersheim Herring; his wives, Mesa Vista Ranch and Melva Florene Hardin Herring; his stepdaughter Gayle Schooley Dodd; and his brothers, Bill Herring and Charles Herring.
He is survived by: his daughter Melva Anne Kell of White Hall; his stepdaughter Vicki Schooley Bearden; his grandchildren, Renee Bunting, Sarah Kell, Jay Moore, Michael Dodd, Le Anne Gilliam and Tonja McDaniel; his great grandchildren, Garrett Bunting and Gavin Bunting; and his brother Jimmy Herring, Sr. (Shirley). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
