He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carroll Sr. and Lillie Carroll; his wife Merlean Carroll; his siblings, Earl Lee, Willie, Leon Carroll and Joann Carroll; and his grandparents, Bishop Holmes (Joella), Emma Brooks Pickens, Wallace and Earsalean Carroll.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Thomas (Carl) of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Jeffery Carroll (Shameka) of Sheridan, Arkansas and Tammy Russell; his siblings, Curl Lee of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Cleon Carroll (Debra) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Lora Hall, Linda Harris, Gail Lang, Coretha Spears (Edward) of Wabbaseka, Arkansas, Oretha Riggins (Oscar) of Humble, Texas and Dorothy Wright of Oakland California; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Carroll of Lake Village, Arkansas and Vicki Carroll of Flint, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Alexis Thomas, Amari Russell, Tyler Russell, Taylor Russell, Jada Carroll and Kishaun Collins; his aunts, Doris Holmes of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Verna Tolden of East St and Luversy Pitts of Flint, Michigan; and his cousins, Marcus Tillman and Larone Lowe, III.
