He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Jean Turner and Chestine Sims, Sr.; his grandparents, Floyd Turner and Elizabeth Turner Taylor; his grandson Jamaree Antrone Sims; and his brothers, Kenneth and Larry Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Sims; his children, Dedrick Sims (Joy) of Denver, Jomaal Sims, Sr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Na'Cosha Sims; his siblings, Rollie Sims, Jackie Sims Williams (Don) and Idell Sims Fields of Pine Bluff; his grandchildren, Dylan Dunn, Jomaal Sims, Jr., Jaylen Sims, Kendall Lee, Ryland Sims, Karter Ayers, Akira Coleman, Kyra Kennedy, Phylicia Sims and Shania Cherry; his aunts, Julie Mae Haliburton and Lorene Clegg (Nelson); and his children, James and Tiffany Howard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church (1117 W Pullen Ave, Pine Bluff, AR 71601). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
