He is survived by: his parent Thelma Dees Cotton; his wife Martha Ann Jones Cotton; his children, Heather Cotton Bowman and Wesley Cotton; his grandsons, Jacob Bowman and Alex Bowman; his sister Debby Cotton O'Neill (Lee) of White Hall; and his cousin James Cleveland Simmons. He is also survived by brother; and numerous other nieces and nephews, all of which he loved dearly, and many caring friends.
