He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leonard, Sr. and Lula Iceydora George Adams; his wife Dorothy "Dot" Jean Chapple Adams; his son Jimmy Adams; and his siblings, Edward, Vester Adams, Lorrine Adams, Mittie Morgan and Patsy Adams.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Adams (Debbie) of Earle, Jeff Adams (Paula) of Crawfordsville and Terry Jean Parrish (Ricky) of Crawfordsville; and his brothers, Benny Adams of Flint and Charles Adams of Columbia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
