He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Marie Pagent Leslie and Herman Fredrick Leslie; his daughter Peggy Johnson; and his siblings, Donald, Buddy, Bobby and Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Wiley Leslie; his children, Richard Allan Leslie, Jr. of Florida, Eric Carter Leslie of Memphis, Billy Ray Haggins of Little Rock, Arkansas, Monica Wilson of Paragould and Sandra Kay Kelly of West Helena, Arkansas; and his brother Elmer Leslie (Carolyn) of West Helena, Arkansas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
