Maxie V. Key Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxie V. Key (West Helena, Arkansas), who passed away on June 1, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Miller and Eddie Miller; her former husband Rollion Key; her siblings, Vetnell, James, Ira, Kenneth and Eddie; her children, Melvin and Charlie; her grandchildren, Shaquila King, Rick Sims, Nichelle McKnight, Zayden McKnight and Johnny Wilson; her goddaughter Carolyn "Jo" Brassell; and her close friend Martha Bailey Sanders.

She is survived by: her husband Aubrey Garner, III of West Helena, AR; her children, Shirley Garner of West Helena, AR, Rollion Ann Key of Houston, TX, Delphena Qasim of West Helena, AR, Elendra King of Jacksonville, AR and Thomas Key of Kansas City, MO; her siblings, Lucille Smith of Southland, AR, Bennie Miller (Lee) of Denver, CO, Johnnie Miller of Poplar Grove, AR and Bobby Miller, Sr. of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Andre Crawford, Jr. (Dominique) and Janice Key; her great grandchildren, Ricky Crawford and Ke'nya Garner; her cousin Darris Jackson; her godchildren, Marchell Smith (Maxie), Channon Barrow, Kimberly Wilson (DeAundre), Helen, Levern Sims (Stanley), Dr. Thomas Bailey (Debra) and Ronnie Thomas; and her friends, Geneva Brewer and Juanita Jackson. She is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren, seventy great grandchildren, and a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends.
