With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Stene Sumpter Thomas (West Helena, Arkansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 15, 2024 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herscher Sumpter and Cleopatra Sumpter; her siblings, Isaiah Sumpter, Chauncey Sumpter, Mary Sumpter and Linda Sumpter; her daughter Sandra Gail Thomas; and her sister Maggie Paschal.
She is survived by: her husband Ellis Thomas of Trenton, AR; her daughter Elise Williams of West Helena, AR; her granddaughter Roquel Williams of Jacksonville, AR; her great grandchild Elias Williams of Jacksonville, AR; her siblings, Joyce Sumpter of Turkey Scratch, AR, Herschel Sumpter of Helena, AR, Johnnie Sumpter, Sr. (Curleen) of Barton, AR and Alvin Sumpter of Marianna, AR; her aunt Geraldine Sumpter of Memphis, TN; her son-in-law Antonio Wiliams; and her sisters, Carlee Latham, Gloria Glass Burton and Savanah Mayo. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; all her nieces, nephews.
