It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice Knox-Hicks (West Helena, Arkansas), born in Holly Grove, Arkansas, who passed away on December 11, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband A. J. Hicks; her sons, Larry Hicks Sr. and Donald Hicks; and her grandchildren, Bernice "Susie" Hicks-Smith, Keithia Hicks and Zedric Antwan Hicks.
She is survived by: her siblings, Mittie Jainkins, Georgia Frierson, Robbessie Hardison, Mercie Clash, Gertie Lowe, V. T. Knox, Ulysses Knox, Dread Knox, Edward Knox and Johnny Knox; and her children, Jessie Hicks-Toney (Carl) of Southhaven, Rose Hicks of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Willie J. Hicks of Elaine and Carolyn Hicks of Helena. She is also survived by 58 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends.
