He is survived by: his wife Sonia Bates; his daughter Angelica Bates; his mother Betty Jean Alexander (Lewis) of Fayetteville; and his sister Tracie Saulsbury of Beaumont, Texas.. He is also survived by his nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
