He was predeceased by: his parents, Ocie Murphree and Lura Bell Murphree (Holman); and his brother Bobby Wayne Murphree. He is survived by: his wife Saundra Kay Murphree; his sons, Charles Connelly Murphree (Lee Saundra) of West Fork and Robert Wayne Murphree (Jennifer) of New Prague; his grandchildren, Sean, Adelvice, Elias, Ryan, Riley and Rosie; and his sister Anna Ruth Murphree of Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International.
