He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Thompson and Minnie Lee Dyer Thompson; his wife Scarlett Ashcraft Thompson; and his sisters, Virginia, Missy Martin and Nancy Nichols.
He is survived by: his children, Kent Thompson of Monticello, AR and Karen Thompson Jones (Danny) of Fordyce, AR.; his sister Wilma Adair (Ronald Dean) of Warren, AR.; his grandchildren, Mechelle Jones, Kady Ferguson (Jeffry), April Thompson and Ryan Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Charleigh Ferguson, Jeffry Ferguson Jr. and Brinlie Ferguson.
