He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Shelley" Johnson and Oleta "Ruth" Thompson Johnson; his wife Sue Johnson; and his siblings, Laura Knight and Coy Johnson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Gary Johnson (Judy) of Woodlawn, Arkansas and Janice Henry of Shreveport, Louisiana; his children, Annette Rushing (David) of Baxter, Dianne Dixon (Curtis) of Birmingham, Phyllis Tutt (Stuart) of Ignacio Colorado, Larry Johnson (Marilyn) of Sheridan and Bruce Johnson (Debbie) of Ozark, Missouri.; and his grandchildren, Jon Rushing (Suzanne), Kelli Montgomery (Greg), Chet Johnson (Lindsey), Kevin Owen (Stacey), Chad Johnson (Melody), Josh Wright (Kelli), Shelley Young (Ken), Brandon Wright (Britnee), Thad Davis, Angela Johnson and Leah Tutt. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
