He was predeceased by: his father Owen Sawyer; and his siblings, OJ Sawyer, Vera Weeks, Ruth Cummings, Willie White, Bernice Milburn and Murtis Mayfield.
He is survived by: his daughter Twila Smith Sawyer of Warren, AR; his sister Memory Sanders (Russell) of New Edinburg, AR; and his grandchildren, Logan Sanders and Gauge Sanders.
