He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lafayette Mitchell and Ida Lillian Hall Mitchell; his wife Bettie Jean Mitchell; his daughter Lesa Berryhill; his siblings, Charlie Edward Mitchell, Joseph Richard Mitchell, John Paul Mitchell, Clyde Lafayette Mitchell, Alva James Mitchell, Clarice Mitchell Harris, Ruby Pauline Moseley and Ruth Mitchell West Keene; and his stepson Ricky Ferguson.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Brent Mitchell (Elaine) of Warren, AR and Joseph Carlton Mitchell (Ben Bonner Gulfport); his grandchildren, Carlye Mitchell of Bryant, AR, Carmen Hanney of Austin, TX, Kim Mitchell of Sumpter, AR, David Mitchell of Monticello, AR, Chase Ferguson of Little Rock, AR and Leah Smith of Jersey, AR.; and his stepchildren, Tim Ferguson (Karen) of Warren, AR. and Cheryl Mitchell (Tommy) of Sumpter, AR..
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Frazer's Chapel (305 S Main St, Warren, AR 71671). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials preferred the Bradley County Veterans Museum in Warren, AR.
