He was predeceased by: his parents, Athel Crossman and Nettie Reed Crossman; his brother Melvin Eugene Crossman; his stepfather John Patterson; and his stepbrother Jerry Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Chiqueta Faye McIntire Crossman; and his daughters, Sharon Renee Ford and Nettie Marie Richie. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
