He is survived by: his former wife Jo Ann Humphrey; his children, Joshua Hess of Walnut Ridge, Justin Hess (Kara) of Texas, Jason Benedict (Cassie) of Texas, Melvin Smith (Laine) of Texas, Mindy Tribble (Steve) of Walnut Ridge, Renay Filkins (Ernie) of Texas and Christy Gosha (Tracy) of Clover Bend; his siblings, Alton Hess, Larry Hess and Faye Mafactridge; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Phillip, Madison, Shelby, Destiny, Blake, Cody, Ashton, Kaeton and Riley Makenzie; and his great grandchildren, Layton Kayden, Charlee, Harper, Dawson, Cooper and Hendrix. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
