She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosie Yandell (Pollard) and Charlie Yandell; her husband Ted Slater; her granddaughter Kimberly Taylor (Speaks); and her siblings, Dorothy Berrett, Sue Barber (Berrett) and Alan Yandell.
She is survived by: her sisters, Fayreen Vaughn and Mary; her daughter Freda Speaks; her grandchildren, Terry Speaks (Tara), Rhonda Burden, Jamie Speaks (Wanda Speaks) and Tonya Edgar (Charles Edgar); and her brothers, Tony Vaughn, Kenny Highfil, Micheal Garrison, Chase Edgar and Austin Edgar. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
