He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Marvin Cotter and Nancy Bessie Cotter (Foster); his wife Virgie Mae Cotter; and his siblings, Norman Cotter, Lloyd Cotter, Noel "Joe" Cotter, Vernon Cotter, Alsie Thompson, Faye Thomas, Chloe Cele McGee and Diane Cotter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Pierce (Jim) of Conway and Lisa Neal (Dennis) of Viola, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Tyler Neal (Ashley), Alex Neal (Gracie), Samantha Pierce, Andrea Pierce and Mary Ella Pierce; and his brother James Darrell Cotter of Viola, Arkansas. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to Pleasant View Cemetery Fund at the Bank of Salem.
