He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmel Aster and Ardell Shirley Burgess; and his brothers, Gene Burgess, Ricky Burgess and Gary Burgess.

He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Reams (Justin) of Vilonia and Matthew Burgess of Vilonia; and his siblings, Bobby Burgess (Tammie), David Burgess, Barbara Goodnight and Carolyn Samples (Robert). He is also survived by six grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
